We Must Go

  • Last summer a group of college girls and I hiked around the Himalayan Mountains to share the gospel. Look closely at this picture. Do you see those tiny specks of us in the middle? We walked and walked… and walked some more.

Our team physically trained before the trip. Seriously. But we still felt out of shape compared to these Indian women. We were amazed watching them carry everything on top of their heads.

The trip was challenging but changed the core of our hearts to never be the same. A beautiful Indian believer, Rani, led us around the mountains to different villages. I’ll write a post on her later. Rani had such an urgency to reach as many people as possible to share Jesus. When we thought we were done for the day, she would point to a village in the far distance and say, “We must go”.

The majority of the villages that we went to had never heard of Jesus or the Bible. The main religion in India is Hinduism. We all fell in love with these people and felt such a huge burden for them to know the Living God.

One evening we met a beautiful young woman who had never heard of Jesus but was in desperate need of true love. We watched the Lord transform her from a stranger to our sister in Christ. There was not a dry eye in the place…

The best part was watching her read God’s Word for the first time… about how much the Lord loved her and was her Maker and Husband (Isaiah 54:4). PRICELESS!

So… as Rani would say, “We must go.” We must go and share Jesus to others. We must go and show love. We must go and make disciples of ALL nations.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:19
